A 35mm photo I took of medical tools at the Ellis Island Museum.
Fact-The inside of immigrants’ eyelids were flipper up with button fasteners to check a person for a highly contagious eye diseased that caused hair to grow on the inside of the lid. Persons found to have had this disease had the hair scraped off with a small metal bristled tool.
